Michael Iber works as a musician, a scientist, and as an author of radio features and dramas. After having completed his studies at London Royal Academy of Music, Iber, at first, pursued a carrier as a concert pianist in the fields of classical and contemporary music. Since 2000, he has been increasingly involved with his own projects at the intersection between instrumental composition, sound art and media art. Until 2013, Iber researched for his PhD at Jacobs University Bremen on data sonification in manufacturing. Since 2013, Iber has been assigned the position of a lecturer for audio design at University of Applied Science in St. Pölten.
